In-house Working Guidelines at BRULAC

 • A valid IAEC approval is must for conducting animal experimentation at BRULAC. Investigator should ensure prior IAEC approval before commencement of the study.

• The Project investigator should nominate appropriate study personnel’s to monitor the animals during the study period.

• The approved protocol should be strictly followed; any modification in the protocol should be cleared by the IAEC.

• The investigator should ensure to provide appropriate study details including the date of study initiation and completion, assay date and other information to the BRULAC office/to any one of the faculty in-charge of BRULAC. Any deviation from the provided study date must be notified with prior notification.

• Only authorized people are allowed to enter the animal block with all the protective clothing - apron, cap, facemask and designated sandals.

• Animal experimentation must be carried out with due care and humanity.

• The Entry and Exit time should be marked in the log book at the facility reception.

• BRULAC is not responsible for sudden death of any of the study animals.

• The authorised personnel’s should ensure movement confined to the allocated experimental room/area.

• If the experiments necessitate the involvement of photography, appropriate permission has to be obtained during the study plan submission.

• The consumables essential for conducting the study must be brought by the candidate/collected from the animal facility assistant with prior intimation.

• Anaesthesia/euthanasia agents/ study drugs should be CPCSEA approved.

• Candidates must ensure proper segregation and disposal of study animals/tissues/material during the study at BRULAC. All the animal users should follow Russell and Burch’s 3 ‘R’s concept.

• Technical or scientific information of the project shall not be disclosed with BRULAC members.

Working Hours

The BRULAC facility operates all the days round the year including Sundays and closed holidays.
Monday – Saturday (Weekdays) : 08:00 AM to 04:00 PM
Sunday and Closed Holidays: 09:00 AM to 4:00 PM
